Dubai’s water parks are among the most visited attractions in this sunny and hospitable metropolis of the UAE. Even during a short visit to this city, don’t deny yourself the pleasure of experiencing real excitement in at least a few of them, or taking a thrilling ride down one of the world’s most famous water slides. Exciting entertainment awaits both adults and children here — huge wave pools, winding lazy rivers, and simulators that are rare in the world won’t leave anyone indifferent.
Atlantis Aquaventure
One of the best water parks in the UAE is the Aquaventure Waterpark. It is part of the gigantic Atlantis The Palm complex, located on the outer side of the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah. Tourists come here from all over the planet to experience unforgettable emotions, choosing from the best of 105 water attractions. The highlight of Aquaventure is the Leap of Faith slide. The descent from it begins from a height of 30 meters, almost vertically inside a transparent tunnel. It passes through an aquarium with sharks and rays, with dangerous predators within arm’s reach. Another extreme attraction is the high-speed Poseidon’s Revenge slide. Standing on a transparent hatch, visitors literally plunge down, sliding through a winding 116-meter tube, making dizzying turns and even a 360° loop along the way. The park has many other exciting attractions — for example, a zipline and the opportunity to safely swim in a pool with sharks and rays, as well as feed the predators by hand. Additionally, the water park has a wonderful beach and access to the sea. For the convenience of visitors, electric cars circulate on the premises. For children under 120 cm tall, there is a special Splashers kids’ play area, which includes many water slides, pools, “cobwebs,” mazes, and safe tunnels.
Guests of the Atlantis The Palm resort can visit the water park for free. For others, day passes are available. Aquaventure Waterpark is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00.
Wild Wadi Waterpark
The stunning Wild Wadi Waterpark is designed in an Arabian style and decorated with motifs from the tales of Juha the trickster. It is located at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, opposite the legendary Burj Al Arab. This is one of the first water parks in Dubai — it was built in 1999 and has since confidently held the palm of primacy. Its fame increased many times over after being featured on popular TV shows such as The Amazing Race, The Amazing Race Asia, and The Amazing Race Australia-2. As a result, tourists started specifically coming to Dubai to have an unforgettable time here. Wild Wadi has 30 water attractions. Among the most beloved is the 120-meter Jumeirah Sceirah slide. During the descent, it reaches speeds of up to 80 km/h. Additionally, there are several other interesting attractions for visitors — the largest wave pool in the Middle East, Breakers Bay; the lazy river Juha’s Journey, which is 360 meters long; the Wipeout simulator, which throws out 7 tons of water every second for surfing; and water roller coasters — Tantrum Alley, Burj Surj, and Master Blaster. For children under 110 cm tall, there is a large family play area — Juha’s Dhow & Lagoon, where children under 2 years old enter for free. Kids can ride on replicas of the most popular attractions here. It is useful for tourists to know that according to the water park’s visit rules, guests can bring their own towels. Locker and food are not included in the ticket price and are paid separately.
Wild Wadi Waterpark is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00.
Free entry to Wild Wadi Waterpark in Dubai is available not only for guests of Jumeirah Beach Hotel but also for nearby hotels. These include Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah al Naseem, Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, and Jumeirah Al Qasr.
Laguna Waterpark
The small but very popular Laguna Waterpark is located in the fashionable La Mer district, on the shores of the Arabian Gulf. This is one of the new thematic water parks in Dubai, which is a replica of the La Boca quarter in Buenos Aires. It is largely focused on beach recreation, with a large panoramic pool and lounge area. This water park includes four zones for different types of leisure — Surf, Relax, Slide, and Splash. It features 5 attractions, including Aqualoop and Mad Racer — extreme slides with high-speed descents, rolls, and turns. And the main feature of Laguna Waterpark is the unique WaveOz 180 FlowRider surfing wave simulator, of which there are only three in the world. For children, there is a large playground in the water park.
Laguna Waterpark is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00.
Unlimited food and water are included in the ticket price, but safes and towels must be paid for separately.
AquaFun
The world’s largest inflatable water park is located off the coast of the Persian Gulf, in the heart of one of Dubai’s liveliest beaches, Jumeriah Beach Residence (JBR). AquaFun boasts impressive dimensions – 130 by 33 meters. It is situated 25 meters away from the shore, which visitors swim to independently. The floating park offers guests the most entertaining obstacle course in the world. It consists of 72 obstacles – swaying bridges, slides, and other attractions. It should be noted that there is no children’s area for children under 6 years old here, and there is a risk of getting injured as there are corals growing under the trampolines in the water. The price of admission includes the rental of a life jacket. Onshore, near the beach, there are about 45 restaurants and a cinema within walking distance, and opposite it is the Dubai Eye – the largest Ferris wheel in the world.
AquaFun is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00.
A ticket to AquaFun is valid for the whole day. This means that you can leave the park multiple times – for example, to relax or eat on the shore, and then return again.
Legoland Waterpark
Legoland Waterpark is a place where children’s fantasies come to life. It is located within the Dubai Parks and Resorts entertainment complex. It is one of the few water parks in the UAE specifically designed for children aged 2 to 12 years old. The colorful area features 20 attractions, including slides and a wave pool. The most popular ones include Joker Soaker, Wave Ride, and Splash Safari. However, don’t miss the opportunity to build your own boat in the Build-A-Boat area and test it on the water, or construct a real raft out of soft LEGO pieces and float down the lazy river in Build-A-Raft River. For the youngest guests, there is a special Duplo Splash Safari area where toddlers can safely frolic under parental supervision. There are several cafes and restaurants on the water park grounds, serving fast food and grilled dishes. It’s worth noting that lockers are available for a fee. Life jackets are provided to all visitors and are included in the ticket price. Towels can be brought along or rented or purchased at the park’s shop. Admission is free for children under 3 years old.
Legoland Waterpark is open daily from 09:00 to 18:00.
Splash ’n’ Party
Splash ’n’ Party is a colorful space of joy and fun for children. It is located in the tourist district of Jumeirah and was created specifically for young visitors aged one to 12 years old. Therefore, the water temperature in the pools is maintained at 30°C, lifeguards are always on duty, and there is a special non-slip, safe covering. Children can play for hours on slides, trampolines, inflatable attractions, and play areas. There’s even a zipline for added excitement. Animators accompany the kids dressed as pirates, transformers, mermaids, and other beloved characters. Themed parties, birthday celebrations, and camps are held at Splash ’n’ Party. Parents don’t have to worry about food as there is a restaurant with a kids’ menu in the water park. The only problem that may arise here is that the little guests don’t want to leave this area of happiness. According to the water park’s rules, toddlers must wear special diapers, which can be purchased at the park’s shop.
Splash ’n’ Party is open daily from 09:00 to 18:00.
Adult entertainment is not provided here. While the kids have fun, parents can relax in the restaurant or juice bar.
